Richard Riemerschmid, Coffee Service „Riemerschmid“, 1903/04

Executed: Porcelain Manufacture Meissen

Riemerschmid was commissioned by the porcelain manufacture Meissen
to design a porcelain service in the modern style as a competitive model
to Henry van de Velde’s famous service with „Peitschenhieb“ decor.

The service comprises 15 pieces:

Coffeepot with cover, h. 20,5 cm
Sugar bowl with cover
Milk jug
Coffee cup with saucer (12)

Marks

 Meissen blue sword mark underglaze, mostly knob mark
(early production) without grinding strokes (first choice)
